Let’s talk about your socks.

It’s been a cold winter, and some weather is just around the corner that could cause some damage and subsequently, large deployments. Being deployed in the winter can add extra emphasis on having the right footwear, and under that, the right socks. Having wicking socks made from the right material that will keep your feet dry, and if they do get wet, will still keep your feet warm.

In comes Smartwool. We love Smartwool socks. I purchased my first pair of Smartwool socks in 1998 for a climbing trip to Ecuador and Peru, and I still have them and use them whenever I need some extra warmth.

Smartwool socks are made from 66% Merino Wool, 33% Nylon, 1% Elastane. This unique blend makes them incredibly comfortable and durable, as well as forgiving. The socks are incredibly comfortable to wear and, as I stated before, will last forever.

If you need to upgrade your footwear, and in particular your socks, get a pair of Smartwool socks from Amazon or REI.
